This Orlando Adult Day Training facility for individuals with developmental disabilities offers valuable interactive and educational classes that teach participants how to manage a wide range of everyday tasks. Staff work with participants to convey, for example, how to manage money, cook meals, perform household cleaning, use a computer, follow sound health and safety procedures, learn social skills, and participate in art and music expression.

Whether it is piece work that allows the client to earn a wage based on their abilities to complete the work or a cooking, banking, or computer class, our staff provide hands-on training, warm encouragement and gentle guidance in helping our clients grow. Instruction and opportunities are person centered and therefore are tailored to the specific needs and abilities of each individual.

Types of work available include assembly and mail fulfillment. About every four months or as requested, the opportunity is available to change class and work schedules.

The goal of this program is to provide sheltered work, to develop work skills and functional classes to assist participants in meeting personal goals. Benefits include improvement in cognitive skills, self-confidence, perceptual-motor skills, ability to function in a group, and skills needed to function effectively within the community.
